How to Manage School and Coaching

Aiming for JEE/ NEET by taking out time to study for the medical examination remains a tough routine for the school students. As many other co-curricular activities come up for the CBSE/ICSE students, managing school and coaching together makes it really difficult for the students. Juggling through JEE/ NEET preparations after six hours of school and selective subject tuition’s, students don’t actually get plenty much of the time left. For an exam like, JEE/ NEET students need to pay a full-time concentration because of the massive syllabus that is there.

Given below are some of the measures you can use to balance both your Compititive exam preparation and school.

1. Make a Timetable

Managing your time efficiently can do wonders for your studies. Devote separate time for your school work while giving the major chunk of your time to JEE / NEET preparation. This can be done very easily by making a routine that works best for you. Every individual has different needs and you can customize and utilize your time as per your preference. Regularity in practice and revision will surely bring about fruitful results.

2. Learn to Prioritize Things

Doing things randomly will not serve any purpose. To get the desired result, you need to prioritize the things. For this, you first need to understand the importance and urgency of different tasks. For instance, if think that a math test is more important than solving an online JEE/ NEET sample test, go for the former option. Making a to-do list is one of the best ways of prioritizing the things.

3. Enroll for an Online course

Preparing for JEE/ NEET  while attending school means very little time for revision. Your typical day would contain attending school than traveling to and from your coaching classes and as a result being too tired for any self-studies. So, it is advisable to join online JEE/ NEET coaching to minimize the time wasted during travel etc. Live online classes would provide you with the same quality of education as you get in the classroom coaching and that too at the comfort of your home.

Not just attending the online classes, you can also participate in live doubt sessions where you can ask any queries without any hesitation. Learning by attending live interactive classes at the comfort of your home really seems a better option than traveling down to your coaching classes in difficult weathers.

This is one of the best ways to manage JEE/ NEET preparation and school effectively.

4. Self-study

If you are in class 11th and just want to create a foundation for the basic concepts, you can also opt for self-study. Your concepts becomes more clear in less time.

5. Revise Smartly

Studying a night before the exam is never a good option. It not just hampers your sleep but also increases the stress that has a direct impact on the performance in the exam. It is better you revise regularly and smartly to reduce the burden when the exam date is near.

6. Practice different types of questions

School and JEE/ NEET are very different in terms of what it requires of the students. School is primarily subjective and JEE/ NEET has only objective type questions. The students might have to take a separate and goal oriented approach when tackling either of them. Hence practicing questions specific to your need becomes even more important. MCQ practice should always be done keeping the time in mind. As JEE/ NEET is a competitive exam, timing plays a major role in providing favorable results. Practice as many mock tests and previous year papers as you can for both boards and JEE/ NEET

7. Don’t leave doubts uncleared

One of the biggest mistakes students make is to skip the topics altogether in which they have some doubts. JEE/ NEET question papers are completely unexpected and you never know which section might help you score more. Make sure you get all your doubts cleared by teachers at coaching center or through the apps.

8. Stay away from distractions

Social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc. are the biggest distractions for the students preparing for competitive exams like JEE/ NEET. You might say that these platforms help you relax and take a break for some time, but when using them, you rarely get to know about how much time you have wasted. Rather, you should relax by talking to people or going for a walk to refresh yourself.

9. Complete your school syllabus by August

There is no hard and fast rule that you need to follow the school’s schedule to complete the syllabus. If you want to manage both JEE/ NEET preparation and school, try to complete your syllabus by August or September. And your coaching syllabus by December so that you can get enough time to practice mock test and previous year questions at the end. It will help you focus more on the exam and perform.

10. Don’t Stress

Stressing and panicking never helped anybody achieve anything. When you have a solid belief in your preparation, only then you can let go of all your anxieties. Continuous effort and resilience is the key to a healthy on-look to the exam. Meditation and well-timed breaks during preparation can also minimize the nervousness that you are bound to face.Instead yous stressing or stating yourself. You should Study at your own pace and make a practical timetable or you can either take a short break , can go for a walk.

If you follow the above-mentioned tips and add your own experiences to your preparatory routine, you can ace both your school and JEE /NEET. Customize your daily routine to help evade the monotony of it.
